Hi Does anyone know if there is an index for the Maple Hill Cemetery in New Harmony? I've found references to 2 John Six's buried there and am trying to get some confirmation, not to mention info on who they were. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks Gayle Swoik IL
Both Posey County Cemetery Records by Carroll O. Cox and Posey County Burials, Vol II, by Darlene McConnell lists: John Six, Va. Mil. Rev. War in Maple Hill Cemetery (no dates). In each book there is only one John Six buried in Posey Co. in Maple Hill Cemetery. Good luck! From Posey Co History Vol II by Cox Page 8 "SIX,(GEX)JOHN has a stone in Maple Hill graveyard at New Harmony. Some of his descendants claim he is actually buried in Illinois. Desposition of services made in SWITZERLAND COUNTY, INDIANA" Maybe that would explain the lack of dates? Joe Weiss Wanda Pitt wrote: > > Both Posey County Cemetery Records by Carroll O. according to the Cox book on Posey Co. Cem. records, it says on page 101 on the bottom." John Six, Va. Mil. Rev. War" and that is all! Sorry there isn't more info.
