    3. I can't imagine an Aldridge/Alldredge (b. 1825 in Posey County) stating that her father was born in Ohio. The Aldridges/Alldredges came from North Carolina.

    3. I would agree. Seems rather odd. Also she ends up in Victoria, Illinois in the vicinity of the others who came from Posey, IN. All indications I have seen of Aldridge's who were in Indiana and on to Illinois show ties back to NC. And how did he get a wife out of Missouri? One thought is the father could have been born in Ohio as the family possibly migrated by way of the Ohio River. Does anyone on the Posey list know of any Aldridge/Aldredge/Alldredge born in Ohio? I better start digging thru the old Posey censuses again. She ended up in Victoria, Knox, Illinois and married Sylvanus Foster Rice 1847 in Knox. Harriet died 1884, buried in Victoria. She states on census that her father was born in Ohio and mother in Missouri.

Settled in NYC before 1850. Had a daughter Catherine A Carroll b. 12/1849-52 in NYC. She ended up in Henderson, KY. I know her line down. But do not know what happened to her parents. She had a brother Thomas Carroll younger than her and also b. NYC ended up in Vanderburgh, IN. He married a Joanna Duggan in 1866 in Vanderburgh, IN or this is his father. Thomas Carroll may have married several times in Vanderburgh. Beulah Murphy in 1917 and Mazel Cates in 1920. These other Carrolls all ended up in Vanderburgh, IN and I am not sure if they are related. But all married in the same church. Gulielmus F Carroll (anyone know what this first name could be in English?) m Maria Bowden 1870. Had a daughter Agnes b. 1875 Patrick H Carroll m Julia Williams 1892. Other surnames to his children are Hunt, Rieber, Eichelberger Also looking for the parents of Walter T Carroll b.abt 1882 m Adelia (Della) Rapp in Vanderburgh.
