In a message dated 3/23/00 7:24:10 PM, [email protected] writes: << [email protected] >> To [email protected]: I volunteered to transcribe the 1860 Posey County Census for the RootsWeb Indiana Census Project and have started doing so. It will eventually be available online when I finish, which will be awhile yet. The only place and media I could find the 1860 census records on was on microfilm from Census Microfilm Expeditors in Salt Lake City. If you go to their web page at <www.censusmicrofilm.com>, you can download a list of available censuses and an order form. The film number is M653-290 and the total price is $15.95. Clif Highman
The Indiana 1860 census is available on CD from Family Tree. Don't remember the cost, but it is reasonable. I personally think this 1860 census is the most useful of all of them--rather complete, too. Norene, I purchased the entire 1850 KY census on CD from Heritage Quest. I am so please with it! You can print the actual census pages and easily find what you are seeking with these CDs. Check out their website at http://www.HeritageQuest.com. I haven't looked yet to see if they have Indiana, but I'll bet they do. I renewed my old membership, from the snail-mail days, with them to get a lower price on the CDs. Hope this helps, Janice ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, March 21, 2000 10:07 PM Subject: [INPOSEY] Census > Does anyone know where I can purchase a copy of the 1860 census? > > Norene > [email protected] > > > ==== INPOSEY Mailing List ==== > This INPOSEY list is currently available for adoption! > Interested in becoming the list manager?
