Does anyone have any idea of how I can find information on a marriage between a John (?) DAVIS and (?) MacCORMACK or MacCORMICK, in late 1700s or early 1800s, possibly in Pennsylvania, New York, or New England? I know this is sketchy - it's also MY brick wall. They were parents of Marguerite (?) DAVIS who married my gggrandfather, Milton Brookins. He was born in Pennsylvania and moved as,as boy, with his father, Dr. Cyrus Brookins, to Ohio, first to Richwood and then to Millfield/Athens. ANY help would be greatly appreciated, Cookie, in Florida < [email protected] >

Posted on: Posey County In. Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/Posey?read=1144 Surname: Jones, Flinn, Flynn ------------------------- In the Posey Co. Commissioners books from the 1820's period there is a listing that states: " Elizabeth Jones allowed twenty-five dollars for keeping Phebe Flinn, a poor child, she was also allowed twelve dollars for keeping George W. Flinn, a poor child." There is no exact date on this entry but some of the other entries around this one are dated 1823-24, per the researcher. I am looking for more information on this Elizabeth Jones family. It has been said that Elizabeth moved to Wisconsin in 1835. Am also curious about the George W. Flinn mentioned.

From Posey Co History Vol II by Cox Page 8 "SIX,(GEX)JOHN has a stone in Maple Hill graveyard at New Harmony. Some of his descendants claim he is actually buried in Illinois. Desposition of services made in SWITZERLAND COUNTY, INDIANA" Maybe that would explain the lack of dates? Joe Weiss Wanda Pitt wrote: > > Both Posey County Cemetery Records by Carroll O.
