Burtis and/or his wife Matrha A Barter, they were my great great grandparents. They had two sons that I know of, Orr Terry Burtis (b. 1872 or 1873) and John Fulton Burtis(b.11/05/1869). I know they lived in Mt Vernon IN and Orr Terry Burtis worked for the newspaper. Any information would be helpful. I just found their names listed on Orr Terry Burtis' marriage certificate. So far this is the only information that I have. Any information would be helpful.

I can send a gedcom file of my work on the Schmitt line to those interested. At this time the file is small with just over 1300 people listed. This file contains only those from my paternal line and is not complete as I am just starting to transfer families from my main file. Included are 40 family trees of Schmitt and Schmitt related that are not yet connected. The time frame here is from about the present back to early-mid 1700's and includes St. Wendel, Alsace-Artolsheim and Alsace-Schoenau. She was daughter of John Aldridge and Permelia Ann Miller, born in 1840 and listed in 1850 census as Sarah A. Aldridge) Noah Moore was son of Elihu Moore and Jane Nesler. I have one genealogy which shows Elihu to be the son of Hugh Moore from Pennsylvania and another report which says he came from Georgia. Searching for any info/connections on my elusive BEAN kin: Stephen BEAN, b. between 1815-1820, wife was Julliett (Julie) HALL, b.1810- 1820, d. 1846, m. 27 May 1838 Posey Co. Stephen was possibly the son of a Stephen BEAN, b. between 1770-1775 (Posey Co. census 1820 & 1830), d. between 1830-1840. The elder BEAN possibly died a pauper. Stephen BEAN Jr. died bef. May 1845. When he died, the estate was insolvent and property had to be sold to pay debts. Stephen & Juliett had two children: George W. Shelby BEAN b. 1839; and Julia, b. 1842, d. bef. 1889. Yes, all of those names are in my family tree. I tink I sent you a GEDCOM compiling of my Family Tree Maker, Family Tree where I named it KOCH.FTW. Mary Catherine (Hertel) Schmitt (married URBAN Schmitt) and Martha (Hertel) Schmitt (maried to Urban's Brother) In their family Father=George Hertel -- Mother=Theckla (Metzger)Hertel. Brothers = Clarence and Charles. One sister died at birth. Their Paternal Great Grandfather was also a George Hertel who married Mary Elizabeth (Weiss). This is also my Paternal Greatgrandfather. Martin Koch is my Maternal Great Grandfather. All the names you questioned about are in my Family Tree Compiling. If you can't find what I sent to you, let me know and I'll recopy it for you. I think you were unable to handle My Family Tree Maker File (KOCH.FTW) and I had to compile it as a Gedcom File for you. Let me know if this is right or if you need anything else I have. Then found where an Israel Tenison had married Irabella Jenny, 9/22/1828 in Lawrence Cty, Illinois. He purchased land in Coles County, IL March 30, 1839. I think all of his children were born in Richland Cty, IL. At least that is what I have been able to find. Also, believe Sarah Baldwin, birthplace Ohio, was their mother. Have nothing on Sarah. I think there is a possibility that Francis Marion was a family name. There are few instances of Marion being used in this line and also the name Francis. Don't know if Israel had any brothers or sisters. Did find a Gideon Tenison in Richland Cty, IL and at one time there was a Gideon in Posey County for a couple of years and then he moved to White Cty, IL. My theory is that Gideon and Israel might have been brothers and the Gideon that appeared in Posey County was a nephew. Have not been able to verify any of this. Francis was an elder in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oliver, IN and his brother William was an Elder at the Mt. Pleasant Church in Bufkin, IN. I have a lot of research to do. Jacob was married seven times. My grandfather was John Henry Tenison, son of Francis Marion. My mother was Cecel Tenison daughter of John. I think it is very interesting and exciting to try and find our ancestors. Good Luck!

TENNISON was born in 1803 and we believe the state was probably Tennesse. He had a son William, who lived out his life in Warrick co., IN. It is interesting that Israel TENISON had a son Francis Marion. My husband's great grandfather, son of George W., had a son Francis Marion born in Texas. He died as an infant. But could Francis Marion be a family name?? Do you know where in Tennessee your Isreal was born?
