    3. I find the following : Huey , William 1874-1947 Dicy M 1878-1959 Note that the Darlene McConnell book has this listed as Mt Pleasant-Miller cemetery which is adjacent to Bufkin. The older Cox book, with no death date for Dicy, has them listed as Bufkin so they must be buried near the line. Joe Weiss in Indianapolis Steven Dhuey wrote: > > Posted on: Posey County In. 3. Hi all, Here are some Lands that are buried in the Maumee Cemetery in Posey Co., IN. Marilyn Frost (no relation) has been doing some look-ups on the Land/Crabtrees in Saulman Cemetery (Gibson Co., IN) and Maumee in Posey. The cemeteries are real close, although I haven't visited them. I can't place them in my list of Land names. And I used to have an e-mail of a Kim Mullinax (a descendant of Nancy Reeves and Judge Pleasant Mulliniks). Nancy Reeves was the d/o Anna Land (my ggg grandmother) and Jonathan Reeves. She must have a new address as her old one bounces. Does anyone know her address? Thanks. And please scroll all the way to the end. 3. You might try http://www.austemb.org/history.htm which is through the Australian Embassy and links through the history. Or you might try through Rootsweb, the international links to Australia. Hope this helps....though based on my work and efforts at finding things... there seems to be more limited information available on the Internet for folks and ancestors in Australia. 1. [INPOSEY] Millions to create a child
    2. This interesting piece is excerpted from the Florida Times-Union (Jacksonville) newspaper genealogy column, "Hunting Forebears," by Beth Gay Here's a lot to think about. Next time you're feeling unimportant and small, think about how it took two people -- your parents - to get you here. Each of your parents has two parents, so that in the generation just prior to that of your mother and father, there were four people who helped get you on Earth. You are the product of eight great-grandparents, sixteen great-great grandparents, 32 great-great-great grandparents, etc. With every generation you multiply the number by tw0. If you figurd an average of about twenty-five years between each generation, you'll discover that only about 500 years ago, there were 1,048,576 people who contributed to the production of you! (Of course, in just one more generation there were twice that many people who were you direct ancestors. I'm always amazed to realize that it it just 13 generations me to Jamestown, VA, in 1607, and that it is only about 60 generations from us to the time of Christ. (My comment - Think of the odds against YOU being here. If just one of those individuals had died before becoming a parent, jusy ONE! - you wouldn't be here.)

    2. Does anyone know what happened to Stephan Schmitt b. 1830 in Alsace-Artolshem to JB Schmitt. He married Gertrude Pittman at St. Wendel in 1855, and seems to vanish after 1860. I couldn't figure out this mysterious Schmitt until I learned on the Alsace web site that Eteinne is French for Stephan. Birth dates and place put him in the JB Schmitt family and it looks as if he was the first one here. He wasn't on the passenger list of those entering in 1855 and the next bunch arrived in 1858.
