Mark was one of 8 children, and the son of one of his brothers (John Sylvester Highman) I met several years ago in Evansville!! His name was Leland Sylvester, Jr. In fact he and his wife took me to dinner. It's late right now, but I can give you lots more info another time. This is great---happy to help! She was the only survivor listed for him. Dicy's listed husband Daniel Duckworth, sisters; Mrs Edith Grant, Eldorado, IL, Mrs Louiza Sanders, Evansville and Mrs Ruth Downen, Hollywood, CA; two brothers Archie McKinnies, Broughton, IL and Tom McKinnies, Marion,IL and step-children. She was the daughter of Willis and Jennie/Jannie Ramsey McKinnies.

Since I posted my query, I have obtained Dicy's death certificate. She died in Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., on 2 Jan. 1959, at age 80, residing in Mt. Vernon, Posey Co. I am now trying to find if she had any children her first husband, William Huey (1874-1947).

Vernon, Wm. J. Lowery age 56 was a merchant, and both Isabella Bradley age 10 and David Hancock age 13 were listed with his family (wife Sarah 44 and children Mary 10 and Ann G. 7)under the same household number, along with Rachel Way age 29 and George Nettleton age 24 who was clerking. Pure speculation, but Lowery may have taken them in -- in exchange for work in his business. Since I am tracing both Bradley and Hancock ancestors, does anyone have any information of this David Hancock's parents?? Sure would appreciate any help!! thanks, ej

J. Lowery only that she was in his home when the 1850 Census for Posey Co. was taken. She was not listed in the home of her father, William Penn Bradley in the same census. Have went through the 1850 Posey Co. census a number of times and have not located Lucretia Bradley, although I know she existed at the time. Sometimes children stayed with families other than their own, related or not. Charles
