    3. Posted on: Posey County In. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/Posey/1364 Surname: Lang, Schreiber, Dickhaut ------------------------- Hi. I have been working on on the Schreiber and Lang line through John A. Schreiber (b: abt 1855) and wife Christina ?Long?. Their daughter, Mary Catherine, married Herman Hofmann and she is the line I am coming through. I have John's father as Andrew Schreiber (4 april 1830-20 jun 1906) and his mother as Elizabeth Hawsel (although I am not completely sure on the spelling of her last name either). I had not been able to trace down Andrew's father although I am pretty sure that he is the son of Michael Schreiber and Elizabeth. I know that you have her last name as Stang from your message on rootsweb. I found a gravesite with Michael Schreiber married to and Elizabeth Dickhaut (29 nov 1824-8 july 1884) and I am thinking that these could be the same people. i have also found Michael Schreiber in the 1850 Posey County, Indiana census with children Elizabeth, Andrew, Ann, Martha, Margaret, Caroline, Adam and George. If any of this is familiar to you I would love to correspond on this line. Thank-you, Kristin Nielson

    2. There have been a lot of posted messages to the Posey query board that should have been made direct between the two people. I have deleted several query entries due to this. All query entries must contain: names of persons being researched, mention their connection with Posey co. Also queries without dates are about useless to others researching. Please keep personal responses that will not help other researchers off the query boards. Gilbert

    3. Calverts Chapel Cemetery in Armstrong Typ, Vanderburgh Co is near the Posey Co line and has many Calverts and Martins but I don't see the first generation you listed. It seems to have some burials as early as the 1830's and several unreadable stones. I have info on Partick Calvert and Sarah Martin descendants since 3 of their children married Endicott's. Many of these are buried in Calverts Chapel. Vanderburgh Co history list William Martin b. Jan 30 1814 son of Charles Martin b. 1791 in SC and came to Indiana Territory in 1805. Charles m. 1812 Frankie Rook b. SC 1797. William and his entire family are, in religious matters, Regular Baptist, his grandfather having been a minister of that denomination. Indiana early marriages list Charles Martin m. Frankie Rook 7-16-1812 in Knox Co. If you have dates for any of the children I will be glad to check for more info and be glad to exchage the descentant info that I have. 3. Thanks to Chris, Gilbert, Annette and others for helping to identify Cook's Park found in an old photo I have. Chris, the post card of the "Casino at Cooks Park" is the same buliding in my photo except that the lights are not apparent. I suppose what I thought was a lake was actually Pegion Creek. Now I need to indentify the young lady in the photo. Her name is written as Ethel Traylor and information on the back of the photo says she is 17 and it is dated as 1918. My family line of Traylors are from around Evansville and Indianapolis. No one in my family can identify who Ethel Traylor is or how she fits into our line. Some of my folks are in their 90s. I am sending this note to all the Indiana lists that I subscribe to in an attempt to find a connection. If you receive more then one copy of this communique please disregard all except one. Again, thanks to all those that have helped, Paul Traylor Milwaukee Wisconsin [email protected]
