But then who raelly knows? Also, I thought a C.O. has more power than a State Police Officer. That is what I was always told, anyway. Yeah, in short it's a screwed up mess. I dont get it.....People can vandalize cemeteries and get away with it.People can disturb or move remains and get away with it....but when someone wants to save and restore the precious, usually not replaceable info on a sunken stone by probing they can get arrested. I guess digging around a base to repair a stone would be considered a felony then....I guess I am going to jail for caring about the neglect. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ingrant/restproj.htm Mark Davis Mark Davis ----- Original Message ----- From: "jon andrews" <sianoil@hotmail.com> To: <INPCRP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2002 12:47 AM Subject: Re: [INPCRP] FINDING SUNKEN HEADSTONES > > > > > >From: Jb502000@aol.com > >Reply-To: INPCRP-L@rootsweb.com > >To: INPCRP-L@rootsweb.com > >Subject: Re: [INPCRP] FINDING SUNKEN HEADSTONES > >Date: Wed, 6 Feb 2002 02:03:59 EST > > > >In a message dated 2/6/02 12:55:40 AM US Eastern Standard Time, > >sianoil@hotmail.com writes: > > > > > > > PROBING CAN BE CONSIDERED ILLEGAL. > > > JON ANDREWS > > > > > > > > > Jon, > > A simple Letter signed by the Trustee makes it Legal to probe and recover > >missing pieces of headstones You are working under his Authority.
