The property that one of our "problem" cemeteries here in Gibson County was to be sold at a tax sale this spring. I had been trying since March 2002 to get something done about the land owner hauling off the stones, and re-newed my effort when I became aware of the tax sale. I cannot figure out if there is a big lack of communication, or if nothing is getting done. I was told that a DNR staff archaeologist went there back in 2002. I never heard from him or seen any report of his findings. I was told this time that it was being sent to archaeologist Tim Wright in the DNR office, who would get a CO to go out there and investigate, talk to the land owner, and probably call me. You guessed it, no phone call. I was also told "I'll make sure that he meets with you." No meeting yet.... I guess I should just start calling them every day and keep bugging them until something is done?
