    3. Hello All: What makes me so irked is that if this was a Native American cemetery they couldn't touch it. I'm not prejudiced, but I don't see the difference. We had an incidence here in Tipton County where they were doing some bridge repair and called the local county historian out to see if there was any difficulty in doing the ground work because of there might be some Native American burials. I just don't see the difference. There is not just one, but two cemeteries in close proximity to one another and both are in danger. Some people are unbelievable! I was so mad after I left the meeting. I couldn't sleep that night. That man is not going to move that cemetery if I have to lay in it myself! Who the heck does he think he is?! Here I go, getting myself all worked up again. We are working hard to stop it. We are going to try to convince the developer that a cemetery should be embraced as part of the history of the land. These are family cemeteries and the families cleared this land, worked it and made it what it is today . It is something that hopefully the new community that will take pride in and maintain. We have been restoring the Scotten cemetery for 2 years now and hope to have it finished before the end of the year. We have done all this work, and he just wants to go in there and destroy it. It's the ultimate greediness. There were some very eloquent letters in opposition. I hope they move the people of the area to organize and save this cemetery. As for the people worried about ghosts, I realize this is a cultural thing, but as someone said, they should be much more worried if these graves are disturbed. > > Theresa Berghoff > > Sue Silver <[email protected]> wrote: > I'm sure you'll all like this one!
