    1. Smith Cemetery near Alexandria
    2. I was traveling between Anderson and Muncie on Route 9 and stopped at a little cemetery -probably 100 or less visible markers. It is on a little hill and is a cute spot. It is well mowed and has been treated a lot with roundup around all markers. It is an old cemetery and showed me a lot of different techniques that have been utilized over the years to preserve it -ie;..taking 5-6 stone fragments and laying them in a bed of concrete with spaces between the fragments, also taking a marker that was fractured in half and securing the two with a metal hinge of some sorts. Also I saw where an old monument was removed and a die cast concrete one was the replacement--it had been vandalized--some remnants of old vandalism, but overall it is in good shape except for all the markers are aging and need a good bit of repair and cleaning. I was attracted to this place an wanted to put this out here to gain information on who has been following this place, and to possibly get folks involved in working on this spot. It is presently clear of encroaching vegetation, but has a woody border that is getting close and if routine maintenance stopped within 10 years would probably not be able to find the place. It is called Smith Cemetery - -Smiths must be there, but I saw none--the oldest marker is 1872 I believe. Larry Leahy Muncie
