I agree also, Sheila and rest. We need to get back to what we started helping other with cemetery work and solving problems together. Joan Wray LA , I agree with what Joan says above. This List is for discussing cemeteries. I thought I was when I asked Jeannie thru the List, although she chose not to answer back the same way so the information would not have to be asked for every time someone wanted to use a Pioneer cemetery for their Burial on their property. But that is her decision or job to make for herself. I thought that I was discussing a very important issue that I had not ran into in all of my years of cemetery work. I wanted to settle the issue once and for all. I feel like a child that has been reprimanded. If I broke any rule by asking thru the list, then I apologize. That would be a rule I did not know about, and that is my fault. As far as Jeannie's E-mail address Phone number. and snail mail address, I have known all of that since she accepted the job. I correspond with her from time to time off List. This was an exception that I felt might concern others on the List, so I asked. Although the answer I got from Jeannie was not the best information, I guess it was all she had. Ernie came thru with what I wanted to know. And Ernie, for that I thank you. I do not discuss politics, nor other frivolous talk.I and my wife have devoted the rest of our life to working on, or furnishing information on Cemeteries, and that time is all to short. This is not written with any Malice whatsoever, it is from my heart. All the best to you LA, you have a tough job. Keep up the good work, Sincerily Jack E. Dear Jack, You didn't do anything wrong here. I was just suggesting she might respond to your question if you send it to her directly. As for her or several others responding on this list, I'm afraid all the bashing will prevent the answers you seek. In other words, you will most likely not get an answer on THIS email list. It's true DHPA has jurisdiction over the cemeteries in Indiana. There are also others locally who should be responsible in each County as well. An area I think we all need to understand better and continue working on in each County. I haven't talked to our county commissioners yet, someday I hope to. But in this County we have a very efficient Area Plan Commission that guards these cemeteries very well. Not that things haven't gone wrong before. We still have contractors who beat the odds by cutting the lane and build practically right on top of the platted cemetery. There are many things we can do to help protect our cemeteries. And that is a great topic for the next discussion. Yes your questions are valid to the list. I was merely trying to make a clear for you and others. Hopefully I've done that this morning.
