    2. Angela' I have found from experience that if they are lying on the ground firm, face up, in the spring the pieces will be much cleaner. The only exception to this is the broken ends. If you lean them against the other part of the stone, put a small piece of plastic under the end. Otherwise, don't worry, they were broken and buried, and the weather never effected them then, no reason to worry this winter. Relax, Worry about the Family. Good Luck! Jack E.
