Good morning, Tom Kentucky was just like here, except maybe we had more rain. We went to a weekend of my wife's family visiting each other in Mulhenberg, Todd, and Hopkins counties. We all traveled and visited all of the older relatives who couldn't get out. The Reunion was canceled, no plans had been made to hold them inside. It was held in 3 counties at different times over the weekend. With her family if it was held at one time in one county so many would have shown up the Ground would have shifted. Down there is not much else to do. But my wife enjoyed her self, so that's all that's important. We did find time to visit some of mine, and Betty's families Cemeteries. In that part of kentucky they are kept clean by relative volunteers. I wish I could find that in Indiana. We couldn't get to all we wanted to visit, some are in pretty isolated places. And yes some have been moved by Peabody Coal Co. Just like here. Now, When you say "Get to Work" I suppose you mean on the Cemeteries. I'm Ready. We will have to work on Don and Tom Burris to get some Community Service Workers, before they are committed to something else. I'm Sorry about the homecoming weather, I knew it was going to be cold and wet. My son and his wife worked the Homecoming also on Sunday for their Church. Have a good Trip, see you when you get back, GOOD LUCK Jack E. Briles Sr. Floyd County PCRP Coordinator Po Box 444 New Albany, In. 47151-0444 (812) 282-6585
Jack: This is off the subject of cemeteries a bit, but have you ever heard of the song "Paradise" by John Prine? It's about Muhlenberg county. (Just curious, it's a pretty song and it was one of the first ones my husband learned to play on his guitar, years ago.) Lisa, Paradise is a pretty song, I have been a John Prine fan since the early 70's. I too want to say welcome back Jack! We missed you and Betty at the Madison workshop, as usual I left feeling like we did not get much done in the yard, I did however bring the tombstone of Elizabeth Rea home with me to finish. Micki and I went down yesterday and reset it.The weather was so cool during the workshop that the epoxy was taking too long to kick over, but I did not want to leave it half done,it was a nice stone. The workshop in Whiteley County is next week but I am afraid we might run into the same thing as far as demonstrating epoxy repair, but then you know there is more to do than just epoxy repairs. Maybe the cool weather will chase me inside so that I can be more conversing with the group.
