I sent INPCRP a copy of questions I sent to the city regarding cemeteries under the Indy Works Proposal. Indy Works is Mayor Bart's plan to to end the Township government system in Marion County. All township duties, except the school systems, would be consolidated under the city/county UNIGOV. The reason for this is the city/county financial problem due to the current economy, and things that were not dealt with over the last 30 years I am a township trustee. I think Mayor Bart Peterson wants to consolidate government for one reason....money. Townships are financially stable, city government is not. Each year we have to budget and stay within our budget. If we don't have enough money to maintain our township cemeteries, do you think under the Mayor's plan we will? Volunteer fire departments will be hurt the most. I just don't trust this plan. Linda
