Dear Fellow @Home list members: As you already know, our @home service is in serious jeopardy at the moment. @home subscribers to this list who receive their service through AT&T have already lost their cable internet and e-mail service. The other affected cable operators (Comcast, Insight, etc.) continue to be in "positive negotiations" with Excite@home and, for the moment at least, our service continues. In anticipation of the POSSIBILITY of losing your @home service due to this situation, may I suggest that you go to: http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ and type in your e-mail address. Rootsweb will send you a LIST of all of the Rootsweb lists to which you are currently subscribed. This list could prove very helpful to you in the days to come **IF** negotiations fail and you too are suddenly cut-off from receiving e-mail at your @home address. Those of you who are NOT on @home might want to do this as well. It's a very useful list to keep on hand in case the question comes up as to just what Rootsweb lists you are subscribed to. If you are at @home subscriber, you may need to establish DIAL-UP internet access to tide you over until this situation with Excite@home and the local cable providers is resolved. There is an EXCELLENT chance that all @home subscribers will, at a minimum, have to make changes to their e-mail list subscriptions. Having the above-referenced subscription list will come in VERY handy to get you RE-subscribed. If you have questions, contact your local cable provider. I don't know any more about the current situation than you do. But you can look on the following sites for the latest news: http://www.techtv.com http://www.technews.com/ Lois
