Dear Fellow @Home list members: As you already know, our @home service is in serious jeopardy at the moment. @home subscribers to this list who receive their service through AT&T have already lost their cable internet and e-mail service. The other affected cable operators (Comcast, Insight, etc.) continue to be in "positive negotiations" with Excite@home and, for the moment at least, our service continues. In anticipation of the POSSIBILITY of losing your @home service due to this situation, may I suggest that you go to: http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ and type in your e-mail address. Rootsweb will send you a LIST of all of the Rootsweb lists to which you are currently subscribed. This list could prove very helpful to you in the days to come **IF** negotiations fail and you too are suddenly cut-off from receiving e-mail at your @home address. Those of you who are NOT on @home might want to do this as well. It's a very useful list to keep on hand in case the question comes up as to just what Rootsweb lists you are subscribed to. If you are at @home subscriber, you may need to establish DIAL-UP internet access to tide you over until this situation with Excite@home and the local cable providers is resolved. There is an EXCELLENT chance that all @home subscribers will, at a minimum, have to make changes to their e-mail list subscriptions. Having the above-referenced subscription list will come in VERY handy to get you RE-subscribed. If you have questions, contact your local cable provider. I don't know any more about the current situation than you do. But you can look on the following sites for the latest news: http://www.techtv.com http://www.technews.com/ Lois
Hello All, Off topic, but well worth everyone's time to read. It is imperative that everyone have some type of anti-virus software to avoid this. The Badtrans.B virus DOES NOT REQUIRE the email receiver to open the attachment for it to execute. It uses a known vulnerability in Internet Explorer-based email clients (Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express) to AUTOMATICALLY EXECUTE the file attachment. This is also known as Automatic Execution of Embedded MIME type. Many mail programs other than Microsoft are also vulnerable. My Eudora mail automatically ran the embedded MIME attachment, but my Norton Anti-virus program caught it. Mary Ron might note that Rebecca, the widow of James Waugh, left Monroe County sometime after his death in 1864. She and children are found, of all places, in Monroe County, Iowa in the 1870 Census. Other Indiana families went to Monroe County, IA at that same time. Dave

Ron, I don't have stones yet, I may find some under the years of foilage, but I am asking about fences. Are you familier with fence manufacturers in your restoration experiances? Please let me know.
So the time has come to buy a fence. Is there a good way to compare prices and does the INPCRP have a fence builder as a member? I am pricing wood and cast iron I trhink the chainlink run about the same everywhere. The unmarked cemetery I am talking about is 75 foot square in a very prestigous subdivision. The landowners appear to be incrouching just a little. :-)
Ernie: Now that you know where it came from and who sold it, I hope you are considering turning it over to the Conservation Officer for further investigation as to who consigned it. It is my belief that this in direct violation of IC 14-21-2-4 and should be pursued as an example, so that people will understand that this cannot continue to go on. Surely the auction company understands the law or should, if not the individual. Congratulations on a job well done! Hello, I do cemetery restoration. If you have any questions you can e-mail me. Ron
Sorry to be late,, Hope everyone had a wonderful day. Diana in Rush Co.
I found this at the library today. >From "Cemeteries of Martin County, Indiana", Compiled by The Martin County Historical Society, Inc., 1963-1971, Volume III, page 325: Springhill Cemetery, Shoals, (Martin Co.) Indiana Martz: Frank Died Aug. 29, 1876 - age 51 - Born in Paris, France Martz: Mary S. Died Jan. 17, 1870 - age 41 - Born in Paris, France The best person to contact in Martin County that I know of would be Nancy Baker at nbaker@dmrtc.net . I don't know what, if any, official position she may hold, but if the question is Martin County history, she usually has the answer. If she can't help you personally, I'm sure she can point you in the right direction. UEB, Thanks, that also fits in with where they said some of the sale items came from. Do we have any one on the list that would be familiar with cemeteries in Martin county? Hello All, I am not sure where this one is from, so I thought I would post to the list, maybe someone will recognize the name or find it in cemetery records. Today I purchased a marble grave marker at an auction sale, to keep it from disappearing forever or ending up in an antique shop. Hopefully we can find the cemetery it came from. The auction sale was 3 miles North of Vincennes on Old 41, or about 500 yards South on Old 41 from U.S. 41 North. This was the George Mullens sale, but some items were consigned, and another person told me some items came from Loogootee and Martin county. So this stone could be from anywhere: NICHOLAS MARTS son of F. & M. MARTS born Nov. 26, 1863 died June 29, 1864 If you have any idea where this may be from, let me know. I'll bring it to you.
