    3. In response to the question about the status of the Mariah Creek Baptist church and cemetery: A Star reporter, Ruth Holladay, (apparently an acquaintance of Lee Creed) did make initial contact here and request information about the Knox County cemetery problem back around the end of June. General information about this and other Knox County cemeteries was forwarded to the reporter. I suggested that the Star should make every effort to interview the Knox County Cemetery Commissioners as well as other local informants who have more knowledge about the contemporary history of the Maria Creek cemetery site, and it's ongoing destruction prior to recent intervention by the DHPA. Maybe Jon Andrews or someone else from Knox County knows more? I certainly hope we don't let the Knox County cemetery issues die on the vine.
