Greg: I went to Farm Bureau Ins., Farmer's Mutual Ins,. Cincinnati Ins. (Country Corner Ins.) and the one that carries the Museum Ins which is Hartford through Hughes Ins. After that I gave up. One responded to me that they didn't know how to come up with liability?? I would be interested in knowing how expensive this would be. JACK: WE HAD A SCOUT FROM HAMILTON COUNTY THAT WAS WORKING FOR HIS EAGLE BADGE REPAIRING CEMETERIES. HE WORKED WITH US FOR ABOUT THREE WEEKS BEFORE HE VENTURED OUT ON HIS OWN. HIS MOTHER ALSO WORKED WITH US AND WORKED SIDE BY SIDE WITH HIM (MAKING SURE ALL WAS OK). I ASKED HIM IF THE SCOUTS HAD ANY GUIDELINES AND ALL HE HAD WAS WHAT I GAVE HIM THAT I HAD. MOST WERE FROM A WORKSHOP I ATTENDED A COUPLE YEARS AGO. I ALSO TOLD HIM I WOULD FEEL BETTER IF HE WORKED WITH US TO LEARN OUT METHOD. HE HAS DONE A GOOD JOB OUT TO THE SUMNER CEMETERY IN SOUTHERN TIPTON COUNTY. HE HAS DONE ABOUT 60-70 STONES OVER THE SUMMER. Light Sanding would be better than that, at least it would turn water and let the dirt run off. !!!! Jack

The Step-byStep page now states: "We suggest you do not use pressure washers on gravestones. The high pressure can cause irreparable damage." Here's the e-mail that got lost in cyber space last week. There is an article in todays (9-9-04) Indpls. Star North Section re. Kyle Kreutzinger"s Eagle Scout Project at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton Co. (Delaware Twp?). www.indystar.com/articles/5/177158-7245-014.html While this is a great project, the article states the stones were power washed. Maybe we need to send out cleaning information to the Boy Scout Councils, and clearly state on the INPCRP website that power washing damages stone. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Angela , Can we get a copy of the release to send to Mr. Munson as an example of what they could do at Pleasnt Grove? THANKS. Theresa Greg Tielking <[email protected]> wrote: Theresa, FYI, the Hancock County Cemetery Commission has a release of liablity form that the county insurance agent drew up for us. The cemetery commission and any volunteers must sign it before working, and copies are given to the township trustee (if we are working in a cemetery that is the trustee's responsibility). A signed permission slip is also signed by the cemetery commission president (or an authorized agent of the president) and the township trustee or private property owner to work in the cemetery. The chicken noodle dinner with Rep. Saunders did VERY well. It was a great idea. At any rate, there is no connection at present, & when the Association runs out of $, the cemetery will be turned over to the Township Trustee. > You are certainly right about community awareness, and the current business climate in Warsaw.
