Sharon: I think a couple of small counties in southern Indiana (like Ohio Co.) still share a prosecutor with another county, thus the reason why there may only be 90 instead of 92. Entire list: Also...keep in mind there may be a lot more sympathetic prosecutors in this state, but a majority of them have never had a case involving cemetery destruction brought to their attention. We need a list of prosecutors from all 92 counties. This lists those prosecutors that have web sites: http://www.in.gov/ipac/links/ I also found out that there are 90 prosecutor's offices representing all 92 counties. Sharon Howell
I will pray for Mr. Beezely's safety while he is incarcerated and as he is made an example of I hope that he will learn to respect others. Wouldn't he be a great spokesman as a community service to teach people with less values to respect others? I think Mr.Beezely is a potential future cemetery spokesman if Prosecutor Hamney will embrace the opportunity. Tom

Brad: I didn't get around to meeting you on Saturday. However, if anyone would like to drop by and help us as least through the month of October, we are restoring the "Tucker Cemetery" which is located on US31 just south of the Junction with SR28 in Tipton County, Indiana. The cemetery is just south behind the Flamingo Motel there. We normally work 12:30PM to about 4:00 PM (depending on how hard we work). We work Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday afternoons. There is a hill there and you get tired of running up and down it. If you would want to confirm that you are going to drop by call 1-765-292-2679 before 12 noon. Be glad to see anyone....there is lots of work here, almost all of it down. Joan Wray Tipton Co. Pioneer Cemetery Restoration Project. Morning, Hey Joan, you and David did a great job on that stone. No need to apologize to anyone. And now you know, I'm really that semi gray headed GAL from Lafayette. :-) <Teasing> I think it was the best workshop ever! What wonderful progress we made in that cemetery this time. I was so amazed at the willingness to tackle the shovels, cleaning and those obelisks too. Everyone just jumped right in there to do the job needed. Weren't they the coolest soldiers you've ever seen? I hope I can make the next workday to finish that one. We all make a positive difference. Enjoyed all of you. We will be having another work weekend the 2nd and 3rd of October (Saturday and Sunday) at Van Sickle Cemetery in Marion Co. Start time is 9 am. A lot has been done but there is a lot to go. Directions to Van Sickle are at http://www.inpcrp.org/vansickle_directions.html. Brad
The workshop today was great! Many thanks to Walt, Micki, Danny, LA, and John Harris, Corrie Cook, & Connie Rendfeld of the Indiana Historical Society, and last, but not least, the DNR-DHPA ,which provides funding for the workshops. As Joan said, it was nice to put faces to names we had seen on the list. It was also nice to meet people who didn't know anything about INPCRP, but love old cemeteries. And the best thing of all was to have kids there. They are the future. They will be working in the yards, long after some of us will be resting in them. It was also great to have visits from Katherine Dill and Cousin Bob Alloway. The plan is to finish what we have started in VanSickle. Some of us will work there again tomorrow. There will be another work day in a couple weeks. Brad will let us know when. Theresa "E. Thanks! Jack, for confirmation on the effects of power washing. Joan, for the info on your experience with the Eagle Scout project. Brad, for clarifying the power washing statement on the website. I think this is an area where we can do some education with the Scout Councils. And the very least direct them to the INPCRP website. Light Sanding would be better than that, at least it would turn water and let the dirt run off. !!!!
