Owen County friends, you will rejoice with us when I tell you that we think we have found the parents & siblings of Samuel SCOTT + Milly FOSTER in Halifax Co. VA. Some of the SCOTTs still live there, and the connection to General Winfield SCOTT seems more possible. One of these family members/researchers has recently discovered that there is a slave cemetery on the Scott farm, which might be interesting to some of you. We don't have any names yet. In looking at the Halifax Co. VA tax rolls and deeds, I notice Francis SCOTT, as well as the names from our SCOTT family.
