    3. I think and therefore I've a problem. Who to fwd off list email to when subjects of interest come up. When its on list, no problem, everyone gets it. I think I'll draw up a tree with all my "cousins" at the bottom all color coded and then I can look at the wall, (I do a lot of that) and pick out whom ever will be interested. Or I could just say dang and send the msg to everyone. Let the chips fall and let everyone else worry about the delete button.;) Dick Smith Biggers and more dws@cet.com

I rather think that a majority of the 'missing' relatives are found through reading someone else's postings who would never have dreamed that it would be valuable to someone else on the list. I certainly sympathize with the reluctance to post material to a mailing list that only pertains to a select number of readers. Perhaps in the early days of the internet there was some merit in keeping message volume down - in today's environment it is far less a problem than it was in the past. Remember that the primary reason that most of us subscribe to a mailing list is to read material that addresses out interest - if there are readers amongst us who filter for only "their" surname(s) they will inevitably miss a small detail that unlocks a mystery. While I have this soapbox out - may I plead with each of you, post to the list please. Sure it is material that you and Bill in Biloxi have in common - neither of you have any idea that Marie in Manitoba has been looking for the information you are exchanging as well. Posting it on list will help out everyone reading it. Thanks!

    3. Dear Dick, I'm thrilled you are posting to the list. As you know, I was your source of the Longsdorf letter from Shirley Henderson. I possessed the letter for 10+ years. I simply did not make the connection(s) you did and would have missed a great opportunity to help someone else. I guess when my Aunt Doris gave me a copy....hence to you.....etc., etc. Wonderful! None of us could foresee its destination(s). I sure am happy to be among your cousins. Let's keep communicating to one and all. Pam
