Albert IMHAUSEN married Melissa Elizabeth BERRY in 1886. Albert was born in Hausen, Germany in 1857. Worked his way over to the U.S. in 1878 to avoid compulsory military service. After being in New York for a short time, he came on to Stinesville. He became a naturalized citizen in 1884. None of his family ever followed him to the U.S. Mr. Imhausen was a brick and stone mason and worked on the Monroe County courthouse and several of the buildings on the Indiana University campus. He also built the large smoke stack at the Hoadley mill in Stinesville. He married Melissa Berry in 1886 and they settled on a small farm near the "Kelly Cut" in Bean Blossom Township. In 1902 the moved to Gosport for residency where Mr. Imhausen lived until his death in 1934. Mr. Imhausen was injured in an automobile accident in 1923 and was an invalid for eleven years before his death. He was an active worker in the Old Dutch Church. The Imhausen children are: Henry, Charles, Albert, Ira, Roy, Beulah, and Ida (Mrs.Lyman D. Smith).
