    1. [INOWEN] Obit for Amanda Bowen
    2. I found an obit in a notebook of my Mother's and thought it might help someone. I'm not able to make a copy of it because it is glued on the back sheet of this notebook. I don't have the year but it has Aug. 8 written on the top of the piece of paper. I think this came from the newspaper in Spencer, Owen County. Mrs. Amanda Bowen Dies Suddenly Sunday Heart Attack Proves Fatal To Spencer Lady--Funeral Rites Tuesday at West Funeral Home. Mrs. Amanda E. Bowen, 73 years old, a life-long resident of this county, died about 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at her home on the North Harrison St., following a short illness. Mrs. Bowen suffered a heart attack Saturday, and then the last attack struck her Sunday afternoon. She was born in Owen County, Jan. 1, 1875, a daughter of the late Creed White. Mrs. Bowen was a member of the Spencer Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include the son, Hendricks Bowen, and the following granddaughters: Mrs. Ione (Wells) Fulk, Mrs. Betty Jane Maxwell and Mrs. Mary Lee Hall. she also leaves one great granddaughter, Little Connie Sue Hall and one sister, Mrs. Alice Phipps of Freedom. Funeral rites were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the West Funeral Home, Rev. Charles P. Shulhafer in charge , and interment was made in Riverside Cemetery. I have four other obits. One for a Lowery Brown, Earl Furry, Bruce King, Miss Getty Stevens and a poem written by Ernest Galloway. If these would help anyone let me know and I will type them out and send them.
