I am looking for information on, or to connect with a descendant of this Huffman family in Owen Co., IN. I know so far that Michael, James and Daniel Huffman were born in PA. I feel they came from Venango Co., PA. Michael Huffman purchased 40 acres of land on 7-1-1848 in Owen Co., IN. Michael and Mary are listed in the 1850 Owen Co. census, Jefferson twp., household #552 552 Michael 60 yrs Mary 60 yrs James 21 yrs Daniel 18 yrs In the 1860 census Owen Co., Jefferson twp, all three are listed separately Michael 71 yrs Mary 72 yrs (they are listed in Iredell A. Danley's household, #1069 1049) Daniel 28 yrs (right below Micheal and Mary, household # 1070 1050) Martha A. 27 yrs Clarissa C. 6 yrs Anna M. 3 yrs James 31 yrs ( James Huffman married Martha Jane Dyer on Jan. 15, 1851 in Owen Co., IN) #864 844 Martha J. 30 yrs Mary C. 8 yrs Sarah E. 6 yrs Zurey E. 4 yrs In the 1870 census Owen Co., Jefferson Twp, Michael is here but Mary has evidently died. Michael Huffman 82 yrs (In household of Abraham Berlin, #74-75) James 41 yrs ( James Huffman married Marilda H. Foley on March 23, 1861 in Owen Co.) Marilda 36 yrs (daughter of William Foley) William H. 8 yrs John S. 4 yrs Lydia M. 2 yrs According to another reasearcher, James Huffman shows up in Columbia, Marion Co., Iowa in 1880, with another wife. James 51 yrs Sarah 50 yrs Wm 18 yrs Lydia M. 10 yrs Jacob 20 yrs ( I have no idea where Jacob and Ella came from and with Ella the same age as Wm) Ella 18 yrs I am trying to research this family. James Huffman is my gg grandfather. I would love to connect with any living descendants and share info with them. This is not listed anywhere in the Owen Co. records that I have seen yet, but James' middle name was Henry.
