HMMMMMM, Thomas J. Wells is definitely mine. Thomas is the son of William WELLS and Mary (Polly) BARNS. I wonder if Samuel Scott is Thomas Wells' cousin? Alexander Scott died in 1843 and a Samuel doesn't appear in the 1850 census with Martha Barns Scott. Maybe Samuel is a grandson or nephew of Alexander. But this Samuel Scott is not the same one who married Mildred Puling. Also are we sure about this birthdate on Mildred? She would have been 66 when she married???? I looked at the 1850 census. The only Samuel Scott I found is the one married to Milly Foster or am I wrong? I haven't seriously dug in to my Barns/Scott families yet. So I hope I'm not getting everyone mixed. <<Samuel SCOTT + Mildred PULING / PULLEN. Mildred was born 10 Aug 1778 Northumberland Co. VA, daughter of Leroy & Winnie (UNKNOWN) PULLEN. The marriage is supposed to have been 14 Nov 1844 Owen Co. IN, but I have not found it listed in the Owen Co. before 1850 list.>> Charlotte
