    3. Since the Hilsabeck and related families migrated from North Carolina to Owen Co, IN, what route were they likely to have taken? Also, a few generations later when the related families migrated from Owen Co to Iowa, what route were they likely to have taken then? Elizabeth Chain My family surnames are Hilsabeck, Fiscus, Arney, Ellsberry, Speas, Fulk, Volk, Geiger, Kiger, Hudspeth, Winters, Hartman, Boyles. ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Carter Sent: Tuesday, June 18, 2002 6:50 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [INOWEN] Re: Migration Trends I hope that everyone isn't as confused as I am... In doing my research, I have noticed a trend, as I am sure that you have. Migration from Ky to Owen Co.,Indiana, usually was from Nelson, Shelby, or Spencer Counties. With Shelby and Spencer being thru Nelson, apparently due to County line changes... If there was further migration, it seemed to nearly always be to Parke Co., In., to Vermillion Co., In., to Vermillion Co., Il, to Douglas Co., Il, to Edgar Co., Il, to Hancock Co., Il., and then to Keokuk or Washington Co., Ia. Can anyone explain this? Was it due to various land rushes, re;igious followings, or what? If there was a stop between Ky and Owen Co., In., can anyone tell me what county would be the most likely to have been "Visited"? Have I confused you? Or, am I only "tilting at windmills"?
