Jo-anne, Another comment about the NEED family you asked about - I have searched but do not have anything on the people you named. However, Robert Matkins has been researching the NEED family in Owen Co. IN. His articles are in "Owen County History and Geneaology" Vol. 9, #4, fall 2000 and Vol. 10, #1, winter 2001. In these he names Malinda NEED + Thomas Jefferson (not Jesse as originally published) SCOTT. He may know also of your family. In regard to Thomas Jefferson SCOTT, son of Samuel & Milly (FOSTER) SCOTT, (who married Melinda NEED), it is good to notice that his brother Pleasant SCOTT is not married to his wife's sister! Got that? Two SCOTT families in Owen Co. get easily crossed. Nor is he the son or grandson of John SCOTT and Ellen BEAVER. It took a lot of doing to get that sorted out.
