Hello everybody, I am new to this list and have ancestors in Owen Co., IN. I have a copy of a marriage certificate from the courthouse in Spencer for : MISS MARTHA JANE DYER and MR. JAMES HUFFMAN dated 19 January 1851. I need some info on the family of MARTHA JANE DYER. The family is listed in the 1860 census for Owen Co., Household 864 844 JAMES HUFFMAN, 31 yr, M , farmer, bn PA MARTHA J., 30 yr, F, Domestic MARY C. 8 yrs, F SARAH E. 6 yrs, F ZUREY (E OR C) 4 yrs, F Does any one know who the parents of MARTHA JANE DYER were? Also needed are her death year and place of burial. I believe that they lived mostly in Jefferson Twp. MARTHA possibly dies before 1861 as JAMES HUFFMAN marries MARILDA H. FOLEY on 23 March 1861. JAMES and MARILDA are listed in the 1870 census. Also in 1870 are his girls from his first marriage. The DYER family may have come from Greene Co., IN. Thank you for info on this family. JAMES HUFFMAN is my gg grandfather. He died in Marion Co., Iowa and is buried there with his third wife and father, MICHAEL HUFFMAN.
