    3. My "Red Book" tells me that marriage records for Owen Co. should be available from 1819, no comments about any burned courthouse. Have the records been transcribed into any publication, specifically 1841 +/- a year? I am looking for the record for Hulda/Hilda STARBUCK mar. to James C. COEN, presumably in Spencer. Hulda, if this is the right one, was a Quaker from Belmont/Monroe Co. Ohio, so there might not be a civil record, IF James Coen was also Quaker. I don't know when she would have gone to Owen Co. or with whom, as a single woman. Would appreciate any light that can be shed on this. Thanks Eleanor McCain Concord NH

    3. Eleanor This link should take you to the database for marriages across Indiana until 1850 inclusive. Burned courthouses aside, there also remains the possibility that the marriage was never recorded by the person officiating. http://www.statelib.lib.in.us/www/indiana/genealogy/mirr.html Debbie
