Are these all the same? In the WPA Marriage Index, there are two listings for the same individual, but different spellings of both surnames - Straley Mary J to Jacob H Spease or Staley Mary J to Jacob H Sheese Marriage occurred in 1876. Then in the WPA Marriage Transcript Index, there is a listing for a Pauline Strahley, who was the daughter of Henry D, and Susanna Scease, who married William Denny in 1894. Is this a family whose name has been mangled and what is the most common way of spelling it if you wanted to search for it? My main interest is in the Strahle family in Owen Co and these folks seem to enter it twice. Bill Strahle

Bill It is my experience that in the records there are mispellings and sometimes you get lucky and they put the correct one there also for your own judgment, most times they don't and some are very badly spelled. Debbie
