I'm a former Owen County resident. Researching George A Ritter - Martha Busby family who lived in Lafayette Twp. George came to Owen Co from Monroe County before that Kentucky, and maybe Maryland before that. Martha Busby is daughter of James Busby who lived near Freedom. My surnames are: Matkins, Need, Long, Johnson, McCreary, Ritter, Busby, Willey. These names don't appear very often. I hope there are some on list researching these names.
