I found in Index to Marriage Record, Owen County 1850-1920, a Sarah J. Medaris and Elijah S. Starrett married on March 51,1888, book 32 page 327 entry. I wonder if there could be a connection with your Sarah? My great grandfather was named Elijah S. Starrett. He was married several times. I do not have a lot on him. In this same Index book it lists a Reuben Spear and a Sarah C. Medaris Dec. 31,1876 book 30 page580.
