    3. In April of 1939 a comprehensive article was written on the Thompson clan from Ireland/Scotland. The article was written in the Newspaper the Chicago Sun times merged with in 1948. I am still trying to access this article, since the Irish tended to travel, & form into clusters. My line came from Ireland-Scotland-Pa-Ohio-Indianna. Last known location in Indianna was Owen co. Late 1700s-1854 era. Hope someone has read this article, I'm trying to locate.

During that time, a Thomas J.SCOTT m. Malinda NEED 5 Apr 1855....they had a daughter Sarah Elizabeth SCOTT m. Chas. H. Willigman in Owen Co....Malinda remarried 1858.....Thomas J. Scott having died. My "BIG" question here is "IS" this Thomas J. SCOTT who married Malinda NEED {her family also from Carroll Co.OH} my Thomas?     3. My elusive SKINNER sibling......I can't find Melvena SKINNER b. ca1849-51 after the 1880 census. Melvena SKINNER was born Garrard Co.KY most likely. As I first found her listed with her parents: Clark SKINNER b. 1794 KY and Lucinda "Susanna" unknown b. ca1812-20 KY. on the 1850 Garrard Co.KY census....she was the youngest of their 9 children.....then I found her on the 1860 census in Greene Co.IN in Beech Creek Twp. living with her widowed mother "Susanna" and some of the other children. She was not living with her Mother and brother on the 1870 census in Beech Creek Twp. Next time I found her she was living with her brother David J. SKINNER and wife Hamey Loruh LIVINGSTON in Clay Twp. Owen Co.IN. on the 1880 census and after that I can find no trace of her. Does anyone know what happened to Melvena SKINNER who was unmarried in 1880 and 29 years old according to the census records? Some records show her middle initial to be F. I'm open for any suggestions.....I have checked cemetery listings in Owen Co. and marriages none found. Thanks, N.J.Skinner White in MI.

    3. Hello Fellow Listmembers I am searching for any information regarding an Anna E. Workman who lived in and around the Rowan County NC area about 1795.Anna was born about1776. She married Ephraim Goss on March 23,1795 in Rowan county NC. They migrated to Washington county IN about 1810 and then on to Owen county IN in 1818. Anna died there on Sept 19, 1854. This couple had 10 children and I would be interested in sharing any data. I am trying however to locate who her parents were or at least eliminate any Workman/Wortman in the 1790 Rowan county NC census.     3. I am researching the JONES surname in Owen county as it pertains to the lineage of JESSE JONES (born 10-6-1824 died 1-9-1888) who married Sarah YOUNG (b.4-27-1825 d. 11-8-1912). Jesse and Sarah were married 4-25-1839 in I believe Union county IN. They were the parents of 10 children. These children tie into various Owen county surnames. 1. He married Harriet Elizabeth SWEENEY (b.11-19-1855 d. 12-12-1918).She was the daughter of John G & Rutha (BRADSHAW) SWEENEY. Thomas and Harriet were the parents of 13 children. I descend in one way or another through 3 of them. 2) son-Anderson born 3-13-1857 died 7-17-1927.He married Frances Catherine Knipe (daughter of John W & Eva (JOB) KNIPE.) Frances is the niece of Susannah Knipe who married John KNOLL (of course another line of mine). I realize this is a lengthy post. Sarah Bolin born 2 Nov. 1837 in Owen County IN, died 27 June 1907          in Clay Co, IN. Married Elijah Bolin (son of William and Nancy Pressley          Bolin of Clay Co - were they cousins?) 7 July 1853 at Bowling Green,          Clay Co IN      6. Almira Bolin (married Elijah's brother, John)      7. William H. Bolin b.1840      8. Wilson Bolin b1842.     I don't have much on William, his father, except that he was born c 1770 in NC, was married to Elizabeth ?, and had children:  Sally, Benager or Benajah, Noah, Olive, Charles, Harbard, and William Junior. He died c. 25 Sept. 1844 in Owen County, IN, where his will was found.    I think William is one of three brothers found in Montgomery Co NC, and his father may have been John Boling.     3. My line descends from Andrew EVANS and Elizabeth FAIN. Andrew EVANS b. 9-28-1759 in Mecklenburgh county NC and he and Elizabeth FAIN married about 1781 in Washington county TN. They later migrated to Owen county IN where Andrew died 12-5-1840. I am interested in finding the parents of Andrew EVANS. I have seen various claims that his lineage proceeds as: David Evans--father Peter--grandfather Lot Evans II--great grandfather Lot Evans I--gg grandfather. As of yet however, I can find no proof of this. Anywhere I have seen this listed there is never any clue as to the poster so I can write for documentation.
