    1. [INOWEN] BEEMAN, J.E.
    2. bobert
    3. Dear Seekers: Believe someone was looking for the BEEMAN surname. Found the below in New Kentucky Bios at: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ky/Bios Good hunting - good luck! Shirley: bobert@panacom.com J. E. BEEMAN 5565, Unknown Co. Posted by Sandi Gorin on Thu, 05 Apr 2001 Surname: Beeman, Dye, Russey, Parker NOTE: I have no connection and no further information. Memorial & Biographical History of Dallas County, Texas, 1892, Unknown Co. J. E. BEEMAN, one of the successful citizens of Dallas county, was born in this city, in 1854, the eldest child of William H. and M. E. (Dye) Beeman, natives of Illinois and Kentucky respectively. The father came with his parents, John and Emily Beeman, to Dallas in 1842, where he took up a headright, on a part of which the city of Dallas now stands, and both he and his wife still reside in this city. Our subject was reared and educated in Dallas, where he also learned the blacksmith's trade, which he followed continuously until 1882. In that year he was elected Marshal of East Dallas, also Assessor and Collector three terms, and in 1886 he was again elected City Marshall, having held that office from 1882 to 1889. In that year the two municipal governments united, making it all the city of Dallas. Mr. Beeman was the first and last City Marshall of East Dallas. After his marriage he settled on Elm Street, and in 1890 he bought a good residence on the corner of Kentucky and Residence streets, and also owns property on Kentucky street, which he rents. He was married in this city, in 1876, to Miss Annie E. Russey, a native of Tennessee and a daughter of B. F. and Elizabeth (Parker) Russey, the former a native of Virginia and the latter of Tennessee. The father followed farming and stock-raising until after his removal to Dallas, in October, 1874, when he engaged in the manufacture of brick. The mother died in Tennessee, in 1862, and the father died in Dallas city, in March, 1889. Mr. and Mrs. Beeman have had three children: Emmett Martin, Robert Earl and Eva Lena. Mr. Beeman is identified with the Democratic party, and during his administration as City Marshall he saw hard service, having been in six shooting affrays and at that time had a large area to look over. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------

    2. Dick Carter
    3. I have been looking for 30+ years for a marriage record for John Carter Jr and Eliza/Elizabeth Nutterfee/Nutterfield... This John Carter Jr is not to be confused with the John Carter who married Elizabeth Betsy Goss Dittemore et al... Carter/Nutterfee marriage would have occurred 1831-1833 in probably Indiana, but, perhaps in Ky... I have checked them all, but, have found nothing... Also, I am trying to find relationship between John Carter of Morgan Twp, Owen Co., In and John Carter of Taylor Twp, Owen Co., In. ( about 10 miles apart) when there were not too many people around...John Carter of Morgan Twp was from Montgomery County NC... Settled in Indiana about 1829, had many sons, and all had sons John, Calvin, and Columba... All of which are names in "my" John Carter's family... To add insult to injury, when "my": Columba Carter, son of John died in war, His widow married a John H Carter, apparently related to neither John Carter that I knew about... Any help appreciated... I would appreciate any information on a John Carter marriage, regardless of who the bride was... Dick Carter rcar37@prodigy.net

    1. [INOWEN] LISTS/DIGESTS/ARCHIVES
    2. bobert
    3. Dear Seekers: To find all the lists/digests one can subscribe to, go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/ and/or http://users.aol.com/johnf14246/gen_email.html [note: think the 'john f' website has changed some but the website above will get you there in about 5 seconds, all the same.] Personally, I prefer the digest format: one msg. with a bunch (usually) of individual messages included...less 'clogging' of incoming msgs. into one's computer when one subscribes to many. You will see the 'paperclip' denoting the attachment which open up the individual messages - the attachments on the rootweb list/digest have been 'purged' for any viruses so not to worry about those in this instance. And - you can scan down the messages that are included in the Digest - those that don't interest you, ignore: those that do, click on. Lists/Digests are available in Surname, Geographic Locations, Special Interests, and others. They are all listed. Also: RootsWeb archives all of the messages from all of the email lists. Go to: http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl Type in "whatever"-Roots for the name of the list. You will receive a page that will search the "whatever" mailing list records starting in 1996, or whenever the "whatever" List began. You can search all Rootsweb lists doing this - just type in the different title. Have great days and peaceful nights! Good hunting - good luck! Shirley: bobert@panacom.com

    3. Dear Seekers: I've never dealt directly with this service, but there is a fee-based online service called www.vitalchek.com that can probably help some of you. Someone wrote on another list that he obtained his father's birth certificate through this site after several failed attempts dealing directly with the state of New Jersey. Hope this helps. The Vitalcheck does service all 50 states: just click on the one you are interested in. Then you will see where to write, and the costs of whatever document/certificate you want to order/obtain. 1. [INOWEN] Huller families
    2. Judy Weisberg
    3. Hi List, Is anyone researching Huller [Holler] families. Several of us are looking at this family which came to Owen from Coshocton OH between 1847 and 1854. Apparently this was a large migration. We are looking at Matthias (b: 1770, PA), David (b:1800, PA), Ketty or Catharine(b:1802, PA), Henry(born 1806, PA), Jacob (b: 1808, PA), Jonathan (b:1812, OH), George (b:1820, OH). We've been looking mostly at the males because they are easier to trace. If anyone is also looking at this line, we'd be happy to share what we have and would like to know if you an pinpoint family relationships more specifically. We're guessing that all these males are sons of Matthias, but can't be certain of that yet as only 3 children are named in his will: John, Jonathan, and Rebecca. Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated. Thanks, Judy Weisberg, Columbus, OH

    1. [INOWEN] Emaline TRUAX d/o Wm.TRUAX and Alicy COMBS...questions
    2. I could really use some help on this one............... I'm looking for any infomation on the daughter of Wm.TRUAX.....Emaline TRUAX b.ca1790 / ca1809 KY have seen both dates for her??......this family was living in Nelson Co.KY when she was born, then later on migrated to Owen Co.IN. I have information that she was married to a PITTMAN....but there is NO source for this fact that I have been able to find.....does anyone have a source of this information and the marriage date and location? It is not in Nelson Co. or Owen Co.IN that I have been able to find. Next there is a marriage record in Owen Co.IN for : William A. BOLDON & Emeline PITTMAN....12 Oct 1837........Now I have these 2 people as living in Owen Co. on the census there in 1840 Harrison Twp. ages 20-30 range.....then I next find them in Tipton Co.IN 1850 census.....which has their ages as....Wm.A...34yrs and Emaline...28 yrs b.IN.....So with this in mind, I don't believe that this Emaline PITTMAN BOLDON is the daughter of Wm. and Alicy COMBS TRUAX.....because of the age....she is way too young {b.ca1822} for their daughter b. either 1790 or1809? Does anyone agree or disagree with this theory? I need others input to help straighten this out. Could this Emaline PITTMAN be the dau. of Emaline TRUAX PITTMAN?? Did Emaline b. 1790/1809 KY stay in Nelson Co.KY?? Did she die there?? Did she come to Owen Co.IN?? What really happened to the Older Emaline? All suggestions and help is Very Welcome! 1. [INOWEN] William and John LOVE.....Nelson Co.KY>IN
    2. I'm searching for information on the family of Margaret "Peggy" LOVE b. ca1800 PA....m. Samuel T. BOLDON/BALDWIN.... 28 Jun 1818 Nelson Co.KY....I have found some evidence that her father might be a William LOVE....as he was found to be in Nelson Co. on the Taxlist 1785 and 1787. Margaret and Samuel migrated to Owen Co.IN during the early 1820's and lived there several years during that time period there was a family of John LOVE living close to them in Wayne Twp.....the age would have been a likely canidate for her father..... Another LOVE girl Polly m. Thomas BOLDON/BALDWIN in Nelson Co.KY also 1823. I'm wondering if they are siblings? I know that Thomas and Samuel T are brothers.....after these families lived in Owen Co. Samuel moved to Tipton Co.IN and Thomas to Putnam Co.......this is also where I again found a John LOVE living in 1840 next to a Lyman LOVE....another possible son. If anyone is connected to ANY of these people above and can help me solve the mystery of if they are connected to each other in anyway.....let me hear from you and I will share all family info that I have on these people. Thanks so much, N.J.Skinner White in MI........vwhite0901@aol.com
