Good morning..... I have intertwined ELLETT's....would like to find out more info on any or all of them. I have a Daniel Ellett b. 15 July 1792 ? d. 22 Sept 1840 Owen Co.IN. m. Sarah ELLETT b. ca1792 d. 1834 Morgan Co.IN....they were said to have been first cousins. They were m. 21 Oct 1813 Fleming Co.KY. Sarah ELLETT is the d/o Edward ELLETT Sr. b. 1760-65 d. bef sept 1833 Monroe Col.IN. and Eleanor Unknown b. ca1770 d. aft Dec 1834 Monroe Co.IN...Edward ELLETT Sr. is the one that Ellettsville, IN is named after....they first came to IN from Fleming Co.KY, before that time I have no clue as to where the family was from. Daniel is speculated to be the son of Thomas ELLETT bro to Edward....If anyone has any history on this family line , finding the parentage of these two brothers I would be very interested in hearing from you. Have much info on Daniel ELLETT and Sarah and their children I would be happy to share with other. Also info on Edward Sr. from the book the Leaves of the Ellett/Elliott Family Tree. Family legend says that Edward's father was a Rev. War solider, a Mason, and a hatter by trade. Edward and Thomas are listed in Mason Co.KY....then they are found again in 1798 in Fleming Co.KY, which was cut out of Mason Co.KY.....Looking forward to finding out more on this ELLETT/ELLIOTT line. Thanks so much, N.J.Skinner White in MI [email protected]

I'm trying to find information on : Ellen Scott 1838 - I first found Ellen living with her parents {John SCOTT b. 1790 Ire & Ellen BEAVER b. 1802 PA.}on the 1850 Carroll Co.OH census in Brown Twp...Next 1860 Greene Co.IN, Highland Twp living with her sister Mary Scott LEMERICK's family....After that I have not been able to locate Ellen....I have looked through marriage records, burial records...other family member census records...nothing! It's like she vanished. Does anyone have an Ellen SCOTT in their family files?? Did she possibly marry one of your ancestors?? If you have info on Ellen, please let me know. Thanks, N.J.Skinner White in MI [email protected]
I'm looking for any information on this SCOTT/LEMERICK family: Mary Scott 1820 - +Valentine Lemerick 1820 - I've found them in Greene Co.IN--1860 & 1870. then can't find them after that. Mary and Valentine were m. in Carroll Co.OH, ca1840...they migrated to Owen Co.IN living there for a short time before locating in Greene Co. just over the Owen Co.IN line. Mary being the d/o of John SCOTT b. 1790 Ire and Ellen BEAVER b. 1802 PA. Most of the SCOTT family migrated to Owen Co. starting in 1851. I can not find info on Mary or Valentine after the 1870 Gr.Co.Census where they were living in Highland Twp. Can not find burial records, or anymore census info on them in Gr. or surrounding counties. If anyone has any info on them after 1870, I would like to hear from you. Thanks, N.J.Skinner White in MI [email protected]

OH I've found them in Owen Co.IN...1870, then 1880 she as widow, haven't found her again after that point. They had been living first in Mont. Twp. then in Laf. Twp. Haven't found a death record for either of them, nor a second marriage for Catherine? What became of them?? Where did this family go after 1880?? Catherine is the d/o of John SCOTT b. 1790 Ireland and Ellen BEAVER b. 1802 PA....most of her siblings lived in Owen Co.IN for awhile some staying for their entire adult lives and a couple moving finally to KS. If you have ties to this SCOTT/SIMMONS family let me know. Thanks, N.J.Skinner White in MI [email protected]

Seeking information about James M. SCOTT's wife. James M. SCOTT, son of Samuel & Milly (FOSTER) SCOTT, born 1816 VA, married Mary FRANKLIN 14 Jan 1841 Owen Co. IN. Death dates for James M. & Mary? Children: Benjamin F., Samuel M., Elizabeth A., Thomas F., George W., John W. James SCOTT married Lucinda LAUDNER (or LANDRUM) 4 July 1847, son Samuel Winfield SCOTT. Daughters of War of 1812 show Lucinda's name as Mary Lucinda LANDRUM. This looks like two different James SCOTTs, or did Mary FRANKLIN die and Lucinda LANDRUM is second wife? Looking for descendants of either of these marriages. Thanks. Nancy R. Scott Urbana, IL
The SCOTT I'm interested in was born about 1821 and married Jesse Fain Couchman in 1844 in Owen County. Her name was Elizabeth. That's all I know about her before she left Indiana for Iowa. If anyone has come across this couple in his Scott history, please let me know. Nancy Couchman Pundsack
A recent posting on GenForum gives the information about bounty land warrant showing the military information about Samuel SCOTT in the War of 1812 from VA. He fought in Thomas Moore's Co. 5th Regiment Virginia Military. Bounty land file number is WT40-623. The warrant states that Samuel died 23 April 1855. It also states his wife died the yar before. The warrant was filed by Samuel's son John T. M. Scott. The informant also mentions that Pleasant W. Scott is buried in Coyville Cemetery, Coyville, KS. Headstone reads "Pleasant W. Scott, died March 2, 1898, age 64 years, 8 months, 27 days." This is probably Pleasant who is the son of aforementioned Samuel SCOTT & wife Milly FOSTER. The informant is researching the "other" line of SCOTTs in Owen Co. IN, that is, the family who came from OHIO. Anyone interested in either of these families, please contact me personally.
