    1. [INOWEN] Elijah & Ezekiel Mallory 1820
    2. Bill Mallory
    3. I am seeking any information on the following: In his on-line info, Robert Weller talks about Permelia Mallory's (b. 8 Mar 1809, in VA) father (Ezekiel). "Who moved to Madison Co., KY and in old age lived in Putnam Co., IN" The 1820 Madison Co., census has a "Rojer" and Elijah Mallory living as next-door neighbors. There are a lot of "old folks" in these two households. Can't find any Mallory deaths and by 1830 the only Mallory left is Elizabeth (James's widow?) with four children. Elijah shows up in the 1830 Putnam Co. IN census. I place him and Ezekiel there by 1826 since Permelia was married there 11 Jan 1826. By 1829 Permelia and husband Greenberry Cox are back and have their first child in Madison Co., KY. Any thoughts? And what about Roger II Mallory showing up next door in Fayette Co., Lexington Twp.,KY in the 1820 census? Coincidence? Regards, Bill Mallory

    1. [INOWEN] Need help on headstone
    2. Hello all, In my research I have found a headstone that has the following design on it and it has me stumped .Have any of you ever run across this symbol or know what it stands for ????On this stone is a circular shield. Within the shield is a flag on a pole , flag flying towards your right as you face the stone . In the place where our stars are..is a single ?star or flower. Crossing the flag is a tomahawk , business end toward your left..sharp end down). The handle appears to be wraped & I don't see any bowl (like to smoke it) or feathers dangling down from the handle end. Crossing this is a skeleton key & crossing the middle is a banner with HOME FORUM written on it. At the bottom of the shield are the initials H. F. B. D. or the D maybe an O. He did enlist from Greene Co.,IL. during the Civil War and served under Capt. Thomas H. Flynn, He might have been in the ranger's or a special branch of the military in the Civil War- or belonged to a modern day gun & rifle club. Any help or suggestions welcome Thanks Patrick ><> Colorado

    2. Randi Richardson
    3. Bloomington (IN) Telephone, February 3, 1891, p. 1. John Black and James Goss, two highly respected young farmers who reside a half mile west of Gosport, became involved in a quarrel Friday morning regarding a fence that stood on the dividing line between their farms. But very few words had passed when Black drew a revolver and began firing at his friend and neighbor from boyhood. He shot three times, the third shot striking Goss in the bowels. Goss cannot recover. Black mounted his horse and escaped. Both are men with families.
