Anyone know anything about Michael Fruits who was killed in a logging accident and his wife, Nellie Lavendar Burk? It says in 1900 census that she had 8 ch 6 living and I only have 4 and another from the findagrave entry that I'm not really sure is hers as she and Michael married Oct 26, 1884 and it has Marie Fruits born July 4, 1882 Alamo died 1958 Indianapolis I've heard of babies coming a couple of months early (cough, cough) but not 18 months ?? !!! Anyone know the other children besides the two Lightcaps (Frederick and Wm. Forest) and the Fruits Michael Jon b 17 Nov 1883 and Dora May b 13 Jan 1887 ? The two Lightcaps and the Fruits two (and don't see how they'd have more as they were marr in 1884 and James died in 1888 - kind of same thing happened with 2nd hubs Fred Lightcap) so not sure how she had so many kids. I see she was born in 1855 and married in 1884 so almost 30 - bet she was married before - ANYONE KNOW??
About the baby 18 months too soon... any chance she was married before, and that's the child of the first husband? I've found several census entries where all the children get the surname of the head of household, regardless of what their father's name was. The 1900/10 census question was how many children she'd given birth to - nothing to do with how many the current husband had fathered. Marsha L.
