Son of Frederick DeWitt and Elizabeth Campbell Jones; born October 9, 1892, Chicago, Ill. Moved to Fountain County, Ind., May 1, 1915. Accountant. Entered service March 15, 1918, Attica, Ind. Sent to Camp Greene, N. C.; assigned to Company L, 58th Infantry. Overseas in May, 1918; attached to 1st Division. Participated in battles of the Marne, Chateau-Thierry, Verdun, St. Mihiel Drive. and Argonne Forest. Killed in action October 4, 1918. Buried in American Cemetery, Romagne, France.
