Kim - WOW -- NEAT CATCH --- here's the BF Allen below from the steam ship -- he IS a physician born about 1843 but I see no indication he'd have been in Indiana at all. Here is what I got from Oak Hill Cemetery records Okay I went through my books and this is all I found. I did not find any B. F. Allen none what so ever. These are the women Allen I found but no dates. Daisy Allen section 22, lot 181 space 6 she is on the Rex Simpson lot. Mrs. L. Allen, sec. 6, row B, space 7. Jane Allen, sec. 5, lot 13 spaces 13 she is on the Ristine lot and Anna Allen sec. 22, lot 123 space 124. I got these women by going through the book. I have no dates or anything on them plus they were not buried with a B.F. Allen. The only one I could not make a match from the Crawfordsville library site was the Mrs L. Allen. Was not able to match her up at all. When the weather clears up a bit, I might wander out to Oak Hill and see who she is buried next to. Thanks muches - it's probably one of the biggest mysteries I've tackled in my 46 years of researching :( Grrrr - maybe someday we'll find her. I'm going to guess BF went somewhere else so I'd think she'd be alone. Do know the Daisy below is NOT her as that is Rex's daughter, married to Richard Allen.
