    3. Crawfordsville Star 2-14-1884 -- The 50th anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McClelland was celebrated by some 50 of their personal friends yesterday (Feb 18) at the familyr esidence 2 1/2 miles north of the city. The aged and happy couple were united in marriage in Ripley Twp, this county and on their golden wedding were favored with the presence of the following persons who witnessed the union in 1834. Mrs. James Dugan of Delphi; Mrs. Hannah Gilkey, Dan Gilkey and Mr. and Mrs. Meredity Rountree. Below is a partial list of the tokesn of remembrance presented the cash in gold. M/M RB Snyder, a gold lined spoon holder; M/M Amos Thompson a $10 gold piece; Dan and MIss Maggie Gilkey $15 in gold; M/M Henry Long, $5; Mrs. M. Rountree, $2.50; Miss Mary D. Gilkey, $2.50; Meridth Rountree, $5; M/M Jere Snyder $2.50; M/M T.M. Robbins, gold thimble, the children to mother, pair of gold spectacles; the children to father, pair of gold spectacles; Miss Haas Breaks, $1; M/M Eli Myers pair of fine silk handerchiefs, Mrs. Jere Kenney, pair of fine linen towels, M/M TN Myers a pair of linen towels, M/M Sam C. Scott $2.50 in gold. The aged groom and bride, though aged respectively 77 and 73, bid fair to render children and friends still joyour for many years to come. Long may they live is the wish of a large circle of old friends.
