Crawfordsville Journal Review Dec 4, 1961 -- Mrs. Charlottie (Lottie) Hawkins Largent, 79, died at 7:24 p.m. Monday at the home of a daughter Mrs. Walter Taylor, 1106 E. Pike St. She was born Nov 18, 1882, five miles north of Crawfordsville, a daughter of Elmer M. and Saly Barr Patton. She married Charles E. Largent in 1897 in Wisconsin. Mr. Largent, a railroader, died March 5, 1940. Mrs. Largent spent her entire life in Montgomery County. Mr. and Mrs. Largent started housekeeping in the Youngs Chapel neighborhood. They moved to Garfield March 10, 1910. Mrs. Largent was a member of the Garfield Christian Church and a home economics club. Survivors include the daughter at whose home she died and another daughter, Mrs. Floyd Darwactor; four sons, Roland E., Leslie L, Paul D. and Leo I. Largent; a brother, James I. Patton; 32 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren and 18 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepmother, Sarah Patton; four sons, including Elmer, Merle and Carl; a sister and a stepbrother. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bright Funeral Home with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial will bein Oak HIll Cemetery. F riends may call at the funeral home after 7 pm Tuesday.
