Crawfordsville Journal Review 4 Feb 1974 - Waynetown - John Cline, 85, a retired farmer, died Sunday afternoon on his farm near here. Mr . Cline was a lifelong area resident and was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and charter member of Montgomery County Farm Bureau. He was educated in Waynetown schools. He was born Sept 11, 1888, near Waynetown to Rice L. and Florence Thompson Cline. He married Mary C. Owens Oct 18, 1906. Survived by wife, a son Russell; a daughter Edna Hale Legg; six foster children, Mrs. Edith Snyder, Roy, Ralph Smith; Kenneth and Lester Smith and Mrs. Mary Allice Sullivan; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Rosen; 22 grandchildren, including Mike Cline who was reared in their home and several great and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home here with Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cem. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
