Crawfordsville Journal Review 8-24-1961 - Mrs. Lenora Shelton 82 died at 10:25 a.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital. She had been in failing health the past two weeks. Born April 6 1879 in Montgomery Co she was a daughter of Daniel C. and Mary Howard Gobel. She was married Nov 16 1898 in Crawfordsville to William M. Shelton. Mrs. Shelton spent her early life near New market and live din the Elmdale community 40 years. She had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Cline the past 23 years. She was a member of the Elmdale Methodist Church. Survivors in addition to the daughter with whom she made her home, include another daughter, Mrs. Adam Bonebrake; three sons, Leland,Howard and Clyde,; a brother, Guy Gobel; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1932, 3 brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Guy Tremaine in charge. Burial in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
