Crawfordsville Journal Review Dec 2, 1966 -- Alamo - Roy Everett Thompson, 72 of Alamo died at 9:05 a.m. Friday at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient since Thurday. He had been ill six weeks and seriouly ill a day prior to death. Born near Ladoga March 21, 1894 he was the son of Frank M. and Fannie Shelley Thomson (sic). On Jan 7, 1922 he married Ruth Weir at Crawfordsville. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Alamo Christian Church and WWI Barracks at Ladoga. He had been custodian of Crawfordsville HS for 17 years. During his lifetime, he had also resided in the Linden and New RIchmond communities. He had spent the past 5 years on a farm SW of Alamo. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby; a half-brother, Arthur A. Moore, and a great granddaughter. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Garald D. Thompson and Lewis R. Thompson; a daughter, Mrs. Ramona Hallett; 8 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Servies Funeral HOme in Waynetown. Rev. Hugh Dooley will officiate assisted by Rev. Morris Finch. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday.
