Crawfordsville Journal Review 8 July 1950 -- Harry P. Elliott, 70 died Friday afternoon at 2 at his home, 803 E. Jefferson Street. Death came after a lengthy illness. Born Jan 2, 1880 in Montgomery County, he was the son of Willis and Emily Johnson Elliott. He married Mary Dixon in 1905 in Crawfordsville. Elliott was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and he and his wife had spent all of their married life at the East Jefferson address. He was a member of St. Bernard's Church. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Father James L. Elliott and Paul T. Elliott; two brothers, Gordon and Ross Elliott; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Stewart; two granddaughters,and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Gertrude and two sons, Joseph and William Edmund who died in Denver Colorado in 1946. A solemn requiem high mass will be held Monday morning at 10 at St. Bernard's Church. Celebrant will be Father James L. Elliott pastor of St. Thomas' Catholic Church in Elkhart, assisted by Father JC Keating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The Rosary society of the church will hold services Sunday night at 8 o'clock at the home. Friends may call at the home.
