And after Christmas, maybe one of you can tell me which Wert with a Montgomery connection married a Katherine, born about 1915, more or less! Kathy Hi Kathy, I have time now. :)) I searched my FTM for Kath or Cath married to a Wert, and only found this: Quenton D Wert married Katherine Alleyne Consalus on 06 Jun 1928. I found this before I stated to reliably source things, and sure enough, no source, although it's probably a Fountain Co marriage. They were both born abt 1905, not 1915, though. Quenton was the son of Eston E Wert and Bessie Clore. Have a Merry Christmas!!! Suzy **************One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail. Try it now. Suzy, that's terrific! I have to admit that this was not a genealogy question, but Katherine Wert was my absolute favorite teacher in junior high school. She was my English teacher and the librarian, and began my lifelong love of Georgette Heyer by lending me "Arabella." I knew her husband was Quentin, but I had forgotten it until you reminded me. She told me that her husband's family lived near mine. We never went into detail. I have to tell you why she was my favorite. In seventh grade I moved from the city schools to the county: in School 80 the teachers had casually mentioned that there were such things as nouns. In John Strange School, outside the city, the seventh graders were diagraming compound-complex sentences with verbals. We were six weeks from the end of the year, and I was supposed to pass a year exam on this? Fortunately for me, Mrs. Wert offered to teach me while I waited for "third bus" at 3:45 -- and I passed. I think there were two or three abstruse points of English grammar that I learned later from other people ... but essentially, she taught me the language. She was a dear lady, and I was a lucky kid! She was older than I thought -- interesting. Teachers are ageless, of course! Funny you should mention teachers are ageless. Each year I give my kids a little quiz about me - thinks they may hor may not know. One of them is how old is Mrs. Z? I get (from Freshmen mind you) anything from 30 to 80. Interesting. I think teachers, preachers, or anyone who has touched your life IS genealogy :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kathleen Lynch" <kslynch62@hotmail.com> To: "Montgomery County" <inmontgo@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 24, 2008 10:33 PM Subject: Re: [InMontgo] Mary Ann Hughes?!?!?
