Crawfordsville Journal Review Jan 25, 1923 -- Richard H. Virts a Civil War veteran passed away this morning at 8 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. HF Harrell, 801 S. Washington . Two weeks ago Mr. Virts became ill with a severe cold and five days ago he suffered from a stroke of paralysis. The deceased was born in Loudon Co VA June 22, 1838. At the close of the Civil War, he went to Ohio where he wa smarried to Miss Mary Amanda Baker in November 1864. For 42 years Mr. Virts had been a resident of Montgomery County. His wife preceded him in death 4 years ago. He is suvived by one daughter, Mrs. HF Harrell, with whom he made his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Nazarene Church and will be in charge of of the pastor, Myrtle Hooker, assisted by Rev. HH Elmore. Interment will take place at Masonic Cemetery.
