Crawfordsville Journal Review 20 July 1944 p 9 -- Waynetown -- Mrs. Rachel Caroline Lowe, age 90, lifelong resident of the Wallace/Waynetown communities, d. at 11:30 o'cloc, Wed night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adah Myers in Waynetown. Mrs. Lowe in declingng health for sev. years had been seriosly ill only a few weeks. Mrs. Lowe was b. May 23, 1854 at Wallace, the daughter of William Philpott & Caroline Krout Philpott, pioneer residents there. She was married Jan 2, 1869 to Elijah Lowe at Wallace. Her husband died many years ago. Mrs. Lowe was a member of the Christian Church. She is survived by her daughter, at whose home she died and 4 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren and one brother, Albert Philpott of Indianapolis. Grandchildren are Delmar B. Lowe, Richmond Va and Mrs. Louella Pennell, of Washington DC, children of a son, now deceased, and Herman D. Myers of Hillsboro, RR and M rs. Rachel Fruits of Crawfordsvile RR, children of Mrs. Myers. The body was taken to the Grenard and Servies Funeral Home where fun. services will be held Sat afternoon july 12, at two o'clock. The Rev.
